A Room with a View

It’s been a tiring day. The operation to insert a new lens into Smithers' eye took two and a half hours this afternoon, so I had a very long wait in his room before he came back from recovery.

The good news is that the lens was successfully inserted, but I don’t know any more than that because we haven't seen the surgeon. He felt it would be best if Smithers stayed in hospital overnight to ensure that he has no more fainting episodes when getting out of bed, so I’ve just got back from taking his overnight things back to him and getting him ready for bed. The surgeon will come and see him tomorrow morning to talk things over with him.

The view from his room is of the somewhat utilitarian building at the back of the hospital, so I’m blipping the picture that is hanging on the wall opposite his bed, which is a lot more attractive.
