New Bird

Finally, a photo of the bird I’ve been happily listening to all summer long, the red-eyed vireo! A bright vibrant song, it’s most comfortable among the trees, but this one briefly flew into the lilacs next to the house this afternoon. Excuse this shot taken through our dining room doors • I took advantage of a drizzly morning to collect a few items from the garden and yard to store in the shed. We’ll be ticking more items off the get-ready list tomorrow and Friday, while we monitor the path of Hurricane Lee. It’s taken a more westward turn which isn’t good news for Maine • Peace & Love
