Hike 1, day 2
The second day of the hike. Fortunately, the sun has come out.
The first valley we encountered was a special one and a tragic one at the same time. A dam was once built here in the wrong way, on which at high tide it broke and 13 people died in the village below.
Our path ran to the left of the dam, through the valley and up a pass to 830m where we had lunch in the sun. Along the way, we passed a slate quarry. Bizarre that they just dug out a mountain and could only use 20% of the stone.
The tricky thing about not having a hiking plan is that we therefore did not really have an end goal. So we just walked a bit further and pitched the tent by a stream. Tomorrow we will walk back to the car.
