Lovely morning…

for a walk up to the castle, despite it being closed, like every other Historic Scotland site, where they have discovered unsafe masonry! Well, for goodness sake, it’s over 600 years old! What do they expect! Rant over!
It has a spectacular situation, high above the Fiddich with a commanding view of the surrounding area . A siege could not have been easy, although it was undertaken by the Mackintosh s in the sixteenth century. It had been owned by the Gordon’s who sacked Corgarff Castle, burning all the Mackintosh inhabitants. Vengeance! Anyway , today it was peaceful and calm and pleasant.
