Europe by Van Day 9

Today we did our own tiny bit to support the Ukrainian economy by driving for 50 minutes to a Romanian border town then walking 1.5 miles along a dirt track to a bridge over a river to the border to enter Ukraine where Mr C blipped me. You might notice I’m appropriately dressed. A few Ukrainian soldiers were on the bridge greeting and hugging 3 Romanians in suits. Some Romanians were going over to queue at a Duty Free shop window. We exited Romania and walked along to the Ukrainian entry point where we were stamped in. We continued along the road to a supermarket where we made some purchases. There was no money changing place - they took Romanian lei but not €.

We are now back at our peaceful campsite, sitting in the shade and planning the next stage of our trip. We’ll be heading south.
