The Final Words On Perth Open Studios.

One of the first ceramic artists we visited was Jud who resides in the middle of a fruit farm by Rattray.

Jud was dressed like Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Jud makes a wide range of ceramics with a utilitarian purpose.

Pat bought the lemon squeezer featured in today’s Blipfoto. The lemon squeezer works well and is much better looking than our utilitarian plastic device.

Jud also provided home baking. Very tasty.

Travelling through the Perthshire countywide is a delightful experience in the early autumn and I really should have brought a ‘proper’ camera to take some landscape photographs of the harvested fields and the trees showing the first sign of colour change.

The artists are always pleased to have visitors and are happy to talk about their work.

The dreaded Covid pandemic has certainly had an adverse effect on the organisation of Open Studio festivals and I am fairly confident that next year’s festival will be much better organised.

‘Lessons have been learned’. And of course artists can be visited throughout the year.
