Last Practise
Nothing like levering yourself out of bed at 6:45am on a Sunday, coffee, dressed and in the boatyard by 7:30, on the water for 8:00. The first hour was a “Rachael Row” where the all male crew are put through their paces and coached by cox Racheal, the progress in a short space of time is remarkable.
Five of the seven Great River Race rowers then went out for a second hour, by 10:15 we were back and preparing the gig to travel, on its trailer, up to London.
Home for a shower and change before preparing dinner and more rugby on TV. A long conversation with my eldest daughter Sarah on her birthday.
Under a week now before the Great River Race, excitement building, weather forecast is hot and sunny, I’m looking forward to it.
