Huddersfield Open Market
MONDAY
A two hundred mile round trip back to West Yorkshire today with an added bonus of some savings.
Whilst in Huddersfield, I stopped off at Ryband's Flowers and Plants stall at Huddersfield Open Market. The trader, who has a nursery in Boston, Lincolnshire, attends the market here on Mondays and Saturdays. The plants are always good quality and keenly priced. Hyacinths were £2 for six bulbs (compared with the £5.70 I paid at a local garden centre last week). Hydrangea plants were £8 (compared with £20) and a strips of pansies and violas were 83 pence (compared with £4.95).
I also filled up with petrol at £1.51 per litre as opposed to £157.9 in North Wales.
The journey both ways was smooth and without any significant hold-ups.
