Bramble

The friend who joined us for lunch yesterday brought a vast basket of fruit and veg including yesterdays plum blip and lots of brambles. They were cultivated brambles so bigger and juicier than wild ones. I have made two big apple and bramble crumbles, one for the two of us tonight and one for when my daughter comes here again on Friday for supper. There were still plenty of brambles left to make some jam so now we have three beautiful deep red pots to take home with us. It is a glorious day and I’m enjoying the sun and not having to entertain. The roofers are on the second hundred replacement slates and the noise of cutting them is very dull but needs must. _( sorry for neighbours but at least they stop around 4)
