Veg Pasta

After scorching weather last week, we have had rain all day.

I had to buy some gifts today and I was pleased with what I bought. Went to post office and posted them off. One large parcel to Mayo, one mid size to Luxembourg, one mid size to London. And it all came to 26 euro. I was pleased. Because in Ireland you never know what the lady behind the grille is gonna say in that sweet voice of hers. It could easily be “that will be 900 euros madam”. :-)

Anyhoo I felt tired all day because I was home late this morning. 2am. In Liz’s house watching the Men’s Final US Open Tennis. Novak won over a tired Medvedev.

Liz is very hospitable and I told her if Novak won I would cook her a pasta dinner this evening. So she is due at 8 any minute now. We will have the pasta followed by apple crumble with last apples from my garden and a really easy topping made with oats etc.

Liz never misses University Challenge - so that’s on the viewing list. Plus I will want to see interesting political documentary at 9.

It will be a relaxed, foody, TV kinda evening
