After Work

Enjoying a quiet hour after my first workday. 286 mails and the piles on my desk and 45 phone calls (when I counted around 3 pm) made the long holidays seem way behind me. Holidays? When was that?
I do hope tomorrow will be better. I thought I was mentally well prepared, knew what was waiting for me today, but that didn't make it any better. I remember there was a time when you could start slowly, had time to talk about your holidays with the colleagues and so on. Not anymore. I honestly didn't have the time to eat or drink.
