Roadworks....

A running joke in the local area is the amount of roadworks and temporary traffic lights - and large potholes! - that are and have been blighting the area for quite sometime! So this latest creation of postbox topper has made quite the impact on the locals and raises huge smiles!!

Still a hot and muggy day but hopefully the last of the heatwave days! And Mum and Dad have gone off this morning on another coach holiday - this time to Liverpool and surrounding area!

So I had post to send off and then went for a wander on the Downs where there were loads of butterflies about - lots of meadow browns, whites, brown argus, gatekeepers, speckled wood and wall brown.... and 2 Clouded Yellow! Who, of course, didn't want their pictures taken!  Spoilsports!!

Interesting visitor in the kitchen too last night - a house centipede! I never knew they existed and they're apparently still rare in the UK but numbers are picking up! Google them, they're very bizarre! So I've had to send in records of its' location! Keep watch people!!
