The End

Stone by the Old Spey Bridge, Grantown on Speyto mark the end of the military road from the Lecht to the Spey constructed in 1754 as part of the attempt to suppress the Highland clans. The stone marking the opposite end of this section which was constructed by Companies of the 33rd Regiment under the direction of the Rt Hon  Lord Charles Hay  Colonel. The stone at the other end of Hay's section features in the Blip for 27th July.
