Green, green grass

The pasture is green, but the grass is very short. No wonder though, as it's less than five weeks since it was mowed and the heifers have been on it for two weeks now.

I filled the dryer in the morning with yesterday's practically dry batch of oats and ran it for some time with the furnace off and emptied it late in the evening. In between servicing the combine, harvesting the rest of the oats and most of the barley. The oats yield was surprisingly good on most of the small fields harvested today, with one exception, but the barley is very poor. The grain wasn't as dry as yesterday, so some drying needed.
