Back to planet dragon

After quite a late and slow start (Last night's Last Night of the Proms was accompanied by Messrs Ardbeg Ten, Uigeadail and Corryvrechan...) we nipped off to Nash near Newport, and the RSPB wetlands outside Usmouth Power Station (one of my old haunts).

The few words that were active were in fact too fast for me, but there were so many dragonflies... lots of darters and hawkers such as I can find in the back garden, but this one... a female common darter? I don't know. Do go large, because I cropped only gently to keep the lovely bokeh berries in shot.

Maybe the hot spell is coming to an end? Another 29ºC day here and quite honestly a bit of cool would be somewhat appreciated. I can see, if this is related next year, there will be calls for air conditioning to be factored into the house plans...
