It's a Fine Line

This shot captures only a small amount of rigging in the tall ship, ARC Gloria, which has made a stop in Honolulu Harbor for a few days. She's a three-masted barque, 212 feet long, 35 feet wide, commissioned in 1968, a training vessel for the Columbian navy and its goodwill ambassador while sailing abroad. Tours will be given.
Picture in our paper shows midshipmen lining the yardarms (in a classic tall ship picture). You really didn't think I would duplicate it here, did you? I liked the block and tackle and rolled sail.
Then we took a stroll to see two other multi-masted boats in the harbor - unfortunately both were in rather derelict condition, but still afloat. One is the Falls of Clyde and the other is the Rella Mae . The Falls was built in a shipyard near Glasgow, Scotland and has had a variety of careers in her time. The Rella Mae used to do sunset dinner cruises, but not any more. So they sit either side of the Hawaii Maritime Museum, waiting . . .
