Happy World Bitless Day

…for yesterday. I missed it. Six years for us this year. Now when I look at videos of horses with bits you see how often they are misused and the horses are in pain. I think a lot of horse practices will change over the next few years hopefully, the use of whips and spurs and the racing of young horses should all stop. We should be getting close to where horses are asked for permission before we force anything on them. Most are bright enough to say no if you recognise the signs they are giving.This horse has taught me that. She’s very clear when she’s not happy about things and because we trust each other so much I can no longer ignore what she is telling me.
