Beautiful countryside

A very hot night was spent in the Premier Inn, but we were grateful for a fan in the room. I still felt like I woke every 5 minutes!

We got up at 8 ish and left the room at just before 9. We had seen a big Tesco as we drove in, so headed there where we were the only ones in the cafe. We had a nice breakfast with scrambled eggs on toast for Jon and fruit and yogurt on a syrupy waffle for me. Plus 2 teas, and all for under £12. A bargain.

The next bit of our journey was a bit over 2 hours. We arrived at our destination by midday.

After a catch up with the friends we were staying with for the weekend, we made some sandwiches, and went out to the local lake. There, we had a picnic on the shore, and then 3 of us had a swim. Lots of families were enjoying the nice weather.

A short walk in the afternoon, followed by dinner and an evening of games. Enjoying some down time.
