I spotted a row of them yesterday all lined up against the back wall of The Footprint. I think it is a bodger’s shave horse. It’s a portable work bench used by chair makers (known as bodgers) when they were working in the woods. I guess there must have been classes organised by the National Trust. So you never know. You might come across a bodger sitting on one of these ‘horses’ shaving away at his chair next time you are walking in the woods!
