Foggy

We set off at 9:30am this morning to return the incorrect hedge trimmer and were enveloped in fog all the way to Timaru.  We returned the item, were given a refund and were soon on our way back home. After a quick lunch MrMacD went down to the garage to start preparing the next piece of furniture I’m going to work on. He removed the doors, handles, hinges, catches and the upstand at the back.  Meanwhile I put a third coat of Danish oil on the two bedside tables.  The top of one of them appears lighter than the other, so I’ll probably put one more coat of oil on that in the morning.

After lunch we went for a walk around the garden together, checked the seed trays in the greenhouse and the plants in the vegetable garden.  Three tulips have opened and there are lots of daffodils.  The camellias are dropping from the tree onto the ground and some rhododendron flowers are preparing to burst forth.  Spring is definitely starting to make its presence felt.

We did a quick supermarket shop then went for a walk down to the Victorian precinct and had a drink at the Craft Beer Brewery.  At least it was open this time.  Afterwards we walked back home, prepared some supper then watched some TV on MrMacD’s iPad.
