Public Art in St Paul

We spent an enjoyable afternoon visiting the interesting District del Sol, part of the West Side of St Paul, MN.
Planning to attend a friend's photo show opening we were looking for a good Mexican Restaurant in St Paul and were told to go to District del Sol. I went to Google, of course, to find out where this was and came across a web site that described the work of a local organization bringing the community together with public art projects. I watched a YouTube on the refurbishing of this piece of art.
This was originally a painted mural done 1979 by Pablo Basque and Greta McClain. Pablo Basque was part of the refurbishing in 2010, which was done with glass in order that it would be more permanent. People of all ages were involved in the project. We were on a mission to find this wall, which proved to be a little difficult because it was on the back side of the building. We saw many beautiful murals painted on the buildings, AND a great restaurant with terrific margaritas!

We were also at Raspberry Island, Harriet Island, our friends photo show opening and Como Park Zoo, making it a full St Paul day.
