Norwich Guildhall

B and I had a day in Norwich, specifically to take a guided tour of the historic Guildhall (part of the Heritage days event).  It is considered to be England’s largest and most elaborate provincial medieval city hall. Norwich Guildhall was the centre of city government from the early 15th century until its replacement by City Hall in 1938. The exterior provides an excellent example of the flint work that the city is so famous for. 
The building housed a goal, and has two courtrooms, one Georgian (which is currently being used as office space) and my favourite of the two, a Victorian Courtroom. Both in extras.  The enclosure surrounded by decorative wrought iron containing the narrow bench on the left is the dock.

A fascinating history and well worth taking the tour.
