Surprise!

Instead of spending five days and nights with the grandkids, I only spent this one afternoon, because--complete surprise--their dad came home unexpectedly this evening and will be able to stay with them the whole time their mom is away. 

The rock star industry is volatile, unpredictable. Before he even got home, Seth had an offer of another job, but he has been on tour since April, so he decided to look on the bright side and take a couple of weeks off.

To say the kids are happy about having him home again is a gross understatement. Bella thought it would be fun to make Welcome Home cards for him, and Evan is always up for an art project, so that's how we spent our last hour together. Now I have some unexpected free time and the kids have their dad at home. Cristina can relax, knowing Seth is in charge at home. Felix will go out of his mind when Seth picks him up at the kennel tomorrow. It's a win in every direction.
