Charlie

We had one of our visits to Carl's mum's pal's place in county Wicklow. The day was overcast but pleasantly warm and ideal for sitting outside and being rather decadent with a spread of wine and ginger ale and Black Forest Gateau and strawberries and cream. Yummy. Very. Lots of chat too, of course

The whole afternoon was overseen by Charlie, Renate's canine companion. He's a character. True to form, he burst out barking and came running to meet us at the gate. Then back he ran towards the house and squatted down with his tennis ball between his legs waiting for someone to play catch with him. He never tires of it, but he shows his appreciation  between bouts by snuggling up and doing that irresistible thing with his eyes.
