Village Life

We left Ruse this morning in a hire car (having had to dash to an ATM as I hadn't realised that cash was required) and visited a rock monastery (Basorobovo), somewhere to eat (Dve Mogili) and a railway station (Petko Karavelovo – we stopped to stretch our legs and took photos, only to find later that stations are out of bounds for photographs).  This is in the village of Mindya, only an hour or two from where my brother lives (as close as we could find a guest house).  Many houses are wrecks, almost derelict, but some have been refurbished, as with this courtyard wall and gate.
