Progress!

Puzzled by yesterday's blip a bit of research was called for.

Finally determined it is the steam driven Abbey Mill demolished in 1897. The chimney obviously stood much later but I can find no record of its demolition. The post card has two cars in it on the harbour wall. One looks like it is from the 40s but the other one has a look of late 50s which suggests the derelict chimney stood in the grounds of St Leonards School built years before the mill demolition.

The substantial mill pond (now drained) can still be seen along with the dam wall. My next visit to St A I'll investigate further and blip the results.

A nod to gen2 for his research.
