Abraham and Isaac
A sculpture by Chaim Stephenson that was exhibited at St Mary's Sunbury. The anguish of Abraham, and the trust of Isaac is clearly shown as the father cries to God. His other hand under his cloak grips the knife with which he is going to to kill his only son. Of course God will provide the sacrifice himself. But in this moment obedience to God and paternal love are in a powerful tension.
