Hare

We had a wonderful walk today from Longparish and up through Harewood Forest where we stopped for a great picnic in a sun-dappled clearing. After lunch our route took us through fields and after watching two red kites circling just above us, we spotted three hares - one on its own, and two chasing each other at high speed around a field. One of those two jumped through the hedge and stopped on the path just in front of us. I've never seen a hare this close before - they really are magnificent, handsome animals.
