Two big houses
... on either side of the path were blowing in the morning breeze. Neither was occupied (or I'd have been unwilling to look closely), but they were beautifully built. Dew on the lawn showed up lots of small horizontal webs at ground level, made by a different firm of builders.
After the misty, autumnal start to the day, it again turned into a lovely warm summery day. Little Miss B and her family went to her school for a picnic at lunchtime. It was an opportunity for the children to familiarise themselves with the classroom again, and meet classmates. Also, for parents to meet each other!
Mrs B noticed that all the children that knew each other from Nursery gravitated towards each other, which is only natural. I think it's a lovely gentle way of introducing children to school-life. Tomorrow, they start for real, with an easier-than-usual three-day-week.
My Extra I took in the wee small hours. It's a rubbish picture of the moon, but does show how dazzlingly bright it was. The planet close by is Jupiter.
