Well, she is banking sharply, and yes, it might be the best shot of an otherwise quiet day. Bank shot.

This is, I think, the same southern hawker that has by now replaced most of the tree fern with dragon eggs. She is indomitable! Continually flying into the fern to deposit yet another batch of eggs. If they hatch,. if any of them hatch, we are going to have a good time in a couple of years.

Otherwise, a nice sunny day, and we walked down to where the river passes through the woodland. I noticed how brown and lifeless the normally well stocked angling association fished river seemed, and couldn't help but notice the news report today...
