Blowing in the wind

I know it doesn’t look it but arriving at our friends’ house in the North East of Mallorca the weather was extremely windy.  Sasha, one of the daughters of the house had been meant to leave at 6am but she and her husband stayed on an extra day to try and rescue the boats that had been bashed about in last night’s storm. They’d never seen wind like it in the summer and it was still blowing fiercely.

We set off in a hire car we’d got the hotel to procure for us - much better than slogging back to the airport and drove the surprisingly short distance on the motorway to the house.  This is the fifth time I’ve visited and the third time I’ve stayed and it hasn’t changed.  Lovely lunch with Holly and Sasha and Hugo and then others arrived.

I watched a cut and did some emails and managed a swim in the pool before dinner which was lovely.  can’t see much chance of dipping in the sea for a while, it’s very churned up and there’s algae all over the jetties.  There’s a little beach down the road which we might go and visit tomorrow.
