Now That's What I Call Music 44

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellow,

As I mentioned, I have been introducing FOB* to music from my 30's. Mainly "Danger! High Voltage!" which they partially love, partially are completely appalled by.

I understand. That's how I felt about it back in the day too.

But it made me think about other songs from that era. I have made a playlist and shared it with the FOBs. it was mainly informed by the soundtrack for an extremely enlightening** and intellectual*** documentary series called, "Club Reps Uncut" that used to air on Sky.

And I managed to find "Club Reps Uncut" on YouTube! Me and Caro watched it and relived old times. "Oh, it's just DIRTY," said Caro, delighted.

Continuing the spirit of nostalgia, I've been looking at old "Now That's What I Call Music" albums from the era to remind me what was playing in clubs at the time.

My favourite (at that time) was "Now That's What I Call Music 44". I remember buying it for Caro on the occasion of our first Xmas together. We danced to it for our Millennium Xmas.

It had "Mambo Number 5" and "Praise You" on it.

I have no idea what Briar will make of all that bu-

"FATBOY SLIM OMG" she texted.

Given that she was zero years old when "Praise You" was a thing, this struck me as very odd. Maybe her parents were clubbers.

*** I might be stretching it a bit. Though not as much as Lady from Scunthorpe.
