young cardinal

Today was a sunny hot day. It was labour day and a holiday Monday and kind of the unofficial end to summer. I got out for a walk in the morning and the most interesting thing I came across was this cardinal on the bridge. It seemed like the bird was stunned but or waiting for a meal to be brought. But when I tossed a peanut the bird saw it quickly grabbed it and looked more normal again.
