I must remember to pop outside one lunchtime and give the hedge a good shake to unsettle some of the previous years' dead-leaf-dust from where it rests in the branches, so that it doesn't all blow into my face the next time I get an hour or two to resume attacking the inside surface with secateurs. I'd try and use something motorised except that I want to keep as much of this year's height gains as possible, some of which are derived from vertical stalks rising from near ground level.
