Even more cherries

The cherry season is upon us like a sledgehammer. I am engulfed. Some friends in the village turned up last evening with another four kilos of delicious Burlat cherries in the prettiest basket. I told them I'd been picking fruit from one of their 500 abandoned trees. They seemed delighted and suggested I hack my way to a couple more. I selected the blackest for my Mum who loves them super-sweet. Another kilo went off to my brother who's a jolly good cook, so no doubt they're all having a delicious clafoutis tonight. I, this morning, whilst still in my pyjamas, made further three and a half kilos of jam. This time it's the most delicious rum and cherry.

It's been a filthy day weather-wise, so what better way to spend some of it eh?
