We wandered into Croydon today to discover it was Croydon Festival. There was a lot going on and it had a really upbeat feeling about it.

We had terrible riots a couple of years ago and in contrast today there were lots of charities talking about their work and plenty of street entertainment.

It made a nice change from run of the mill "continental markets" where you end up spending a fortune.

It was nice and sunny and everyone looked like they were happy.
