Raspberries

The raspberries have grown larger and plumper than usual in the rain, and now that the sun has come out they are ripening better: these are beautiful, large, tasty and sweet. Unfortunately the wet weather has caused quite a lot of mould in the raspberry bed, a problem we normally experience in late October and November as our autumn raspberries reach the end of their cropping period and often develop mould before they are fully ripe. I'm hoping the dry and warm weather expected in the coming week will bring more good quality fruit. 

It was a busy Saturday, with J and with kitchen jobs, so I didn't get out, but we enjoyed more of P's savoury scones with very nice Camembert and Golden Cherry tomatoes from the greenhouse for our leisurely brunch and raspberries with vanilla ice cream for our afternoon tea, so the day had its share of treats.
