Steam engines

We visited the Williams Grove Historical Steam Engine Association's Steam Show today because they were having a presentation and fundraiser for the old carousel house at the nearby Williams Grove Amusement Park. The park closed in 2005, but there are still buildings and a roller coaster standing. We could just get a glimpse at parts of the coaster when we rode in a historic steam train.

It was smoky and noisy since people from seemingly as far away as Wisconsin brought their old steam-powered tractors and tools here. It was neat to see them drive in the tractor parade.

The association wants to move the amusement park's carousel house about 2,000 feet (610 meters) from the park to the group's grounds. They're raising money to do that. Jill and I donated since it would be nice to save something from that park because it goes further into disrepair every day.
