Connect: day three (obligatory Spitfire)

Today we saw:

Public Service Broadcasting, who were not, I think, at their best, and I rather suspect they were dealing with a number of technical issues. However, they were still very good, and they played a good setlist (including, of course, 'Spitfire').

After that we strolled across to see Beth Orton, and I'm so glad that we did. She was on great form, very happy but also a bit tearful as it was the last gig of the summer for her. I was pleased - if not surprised - that she played 'Central Reservation', but delighted that she also played '1973'.

And finally we saw Arab Strap, which I noted during their performance was "like watching a big, bearded Lou Reed perform with Mogwai'". And that can only be a good thing :-)

All in all, then, a great little festival. If the line-up's as good next year, we'll be back!
