Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2023 Friday — Field Trip

When I was a kid, field trip day at school was always a thrill. Almost every Friday recently, we have headed north 12 or so miles to the tourist community of Cambria. We did that again today.

The nursery is having a “20% off everything” sale this weekend. A new thrift store is opening today, and I always visit my favorite thrift store “re•create” run by the volunteers of the Vineyard Church.

Also, we made a quick stop at the “Garden Shed,” which is a collection of little shops all in one place, because I wanted to purchase (splurge) on some artificial poppies there at the Garden Shed. I saw them last time we were there and could not justify purchasing them (kind of pricey), at least not until I looked for them at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. I did look at both places since then, and neither place had artificial poppies. So I bought some.

Lunch at the Harmony Cafe was also part of our agenda, and our meal was delicious. I did my usual habit of halving my meal. So the other half became dinner this evening for both of us when I added a little more pasta to it, and I made a spinach salad. I kid myself and say that made lunch half as expensive.

The first Friday of September is now history and I can hardly believe summer is slipping away.

From California’s Central Coast,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
and Chloe & Mitzi too!
