UPS AND DOWNS
39/60 treats.
Good day at school. Lots of positives…yesterday’s little “character” had a much better day.
Daisy is staying with the headteacher whilst we travel so I left her in the heads office; as a surprise welcome. They patrolled the school together most of the day but she knew something was going on. When it came to me saying goodbye she just ran to the head!!!!
The Rev had booked a cooking experience at The Langham in London (not really a good idea the day before our holiday AND definitely NOT a good idea on a train strike day!!!) so we drove up. The journey was ok actually.
The course was fantastic. In a proper professional kitchen. We started with a cocktail and then a demonstration on making a chimichurri sauce, a sherry jus, a béarnaise sauce and how to cook a steak properly.
##we had so much fun.
#we then got to enjoy the fruits of our labour…delicious. The chefs had also made us a yummy tiramisu. All washed down with several glasses of wine (well for me anyway!)
#Then the down…when we got back to our car the back window had been smashed in!?!&@!? Nothing taken (and there were tools in there), 2 others car were also affected. 1 family had all their luggage stolen!! On the bright side the paint work was ok and it wasn’t raining for our journey home. The problem was what to do as we are off on holiday tomorrow. Where do we keep it??? Luckily on the drive home we remembered Mum’s garage was empty. Bless her she stayed up until nearly midnight!!! I couldn’t drive up to bring The Rev back as I’d been drinking but luckily we saw a neighbours lights on and he took me up and we met The Rev to bring him home.
Such kindness in a stressful time is very appreciated. We eventually got to bed at 1am luckily our flight is not an early one!!!
Mindless idiots!!
