Social time
After breakfast we made a quick dash to the Oamaru Farmers’ Market to get some veggies and cheese. Then we drove a short way out of Oamaru to visit a couple whose acquaintance we made about three weeks ago when we were standing in the queue for coffee at the market. A friend of theirs joined us and we spent a pleasant couple of hours chatting and drinking coffee.
It was quite a bleak day that started with fog in the morning and continued with grey skies all day. MrMacD got out in the garden for a short while and I did a couple of chores inside. When he came in I nabbed his old, warm fleece and went down into the garage to sand the drawer fronts of the bedside tables. I managed to get all four done, so now the two units need a very light sanding and then they can be waxed. By the time I’d finished my feet were frozen and it was good to get back inside to the warm.
We did a quick trip to the supermarket then back home and into the warm, and that’s where we’ve stayed. We didn’t even go out for a walk. We’ll get back into it tomorrow.
There is a rhododendron in the garden of the house next door to us. We can see it from our kitchen and it has rather beautiful and unusual flowers, so that’s today’s blip.
