Finding the Treasure
Tony and I walked down to University Parks this morning to do Parkrun. I found it hard work, too close to breakfast and a bit of a rush to get down there for 9am. Good to do though as it's been a while since I've run one.
The Run Director welcomed some 'tourists' from Wales in their own language which was impressive, although he did say he was only ordering a chicken korma. He also told us that it was Tolkien's 50th Anniversary today and welcomed any parkrunners from Middle Earth. One had come suitably dressed for the occasion.
Afterwards we had something of a second breakfast at Gail's Bakery, then picked up some chocolate prizes for the Hobblwordlers from the Montezuma shop before catching the bus back out to Headington.
Euan has been a bit lackadaisical today and he didn't want to go out to the Park. He had been to Little Kickers with his Dad so would have been tired. So he constructed some more Lego and then I devised a treasure hunt around the garden, which was repeated several times. He had to find some of his cuddly friends en route before locating the treasure which is why Tony has an armful of them. In this version, Euan had set the treasure trail and Grandad was following the map of the garden.
It was very hot mid afternoon so we had some indoor time with his Lego before heading out again when it cooled before dinner.
