Friday

MIL was due to come out of hospital today and OH had planned to visit No.1 so I was on duty.   We were told to expect a phone call when she was on her way home and the phone rang at 9.05 so no BP today (although I was dressed and just about to go out of the door).  I drove round and the ambulance people were just getting her indoors.  All carers deserve a medal for the caring, compassionate way they deal with old folk (mostly).  She was cleaned up (accident en route) and installed in her bed while I waited for the care team to come and assess.  Long morning, so I cleaned out a few cupboards and worked out what food she needed.  Trip to Tesco for lots of ready meals and easy to prepare things.  Two loads of washing done and cupboards filled.  I also did her a food list so she knows what is in the cupboards (I threw away a jelly dated 2010!!).  Very sad - getting old sucks!

OH had a nice day with No1 but sent me a picture of the traffic on the way home ??!!
