Solvitur Ambulando - it is solved by walking.

Backblipped on Friday 1September.   4 bus pass walkers joined "Baildon Walkers Are Welcome" on one of their festival walks. The walk took us from Baildon to Thackley then through Buck Wood and Esholt Wood and then along the canal and back up to Baildon. Just a short shower of rain and then warm enough without coats. We were shown cottages which were previously Thackley Workhouse, and passed rock sculptures in Buck Wood which is a prehistoric site.  It was also the site of a forest school set up so that children exposed to coal dust and smog in central Bradford could get some respite in the countryside. Apparently Bradford Education was considered very forward looking and was the first city to provide free school meals. An interesting place.  Will have to go back to see more.  Heron spotted along the canal, and we saw community choir members on the walk and as we passed houses on the way back to Baildon Station. Refreshments at Pickles in Baildon upon our return.  A good walk.  Very stiff hip now!
