What a day…
This is what happens when your electric car suddenly fails on you! It’s so broke that it won’t even turn on. There’s some sort of issue with the battery so I think it’s a write off.
I had it parked safely with the hazards on whilst I waited for the RAC. But for some reason it suddenly rolled back into the road. We had to call the police out.
They came and have taken the car back to their compound. And they’re sending the bill to the RAC for the tow.
The car is covered by the RAC. This happened at 3pm. It’s now 11:55pm and they still haven’t managed to assign someone to the call. I deliberately haven’t cancelled it to see how long it would take.
They’ve been awful. Firstly they said it would be within an hour. Then at 8pm they decided it would be before midnight.
When we rang them back saying the car brakes had failed (all done electronically) and the car was in the middle of a busy road and couldn’t be moved they tried to tell me it was the police’s problem.
When the police lady spoke to them they backtracked but then told her it would be 3am before they could come. The police made the decision then to tow the car. They told me that because the RAC had basically told them they couldn’t move it out of the road they would send the invoice to them. Apparently it happens all the time and they pay it with no worries. The police also told me that of all the breakdown companies they are the worst ones. I’ll be switching to a different company.
My amazing aunty came and rescued us. We were about half way between Coventry and home. We’re now at her house. I pay extra to make sure I always get to my destination so the RAC will have to make sure I get home tomorrow. And the car is thankfully still under warranty as it’s only a year old so whatever happens there I won’t be without a car.
Sleep time now. We left to head home at 1:30pm! Admittedly we took a slight detour to have lunch but it’s still been a ridiculously long day.
