Adventure

My photos on the go pro are a blurry horrible mess, so I definitely won't bother with it tomorrow evening, but this evening was quite an adventure and at least this captures some of it. Plans were hatched a while ago to experience the blue moon from the sea. It sort of worked out, but there was quite a lot of cloud on the horizon and by the time the moon was actually making a brief appearance before disappearing behind more cloud, most of us were getting too cold and so had retreated to the shoreline. I wore my neoprene waistcoat, which helps, but it doesn't really keep me warm when I'm not actually swimming quite vigorously. (For the record, I can say that by the time I'd had a shower at home and got straight into bed, I was suffering a bit and it took me about an hour to fully warm up; in the end I slept fine, though, so no harm done).

Obviously the go pro is not good in this sort of low light, so this is just about the only rescuable photograph that shows what we were up to - six of us in the water, bobbing around and waiting for the moon. While by that stage we were the only people in the water (a couple of people had a swim just beforehand), there were a lot of people at the car park also hoping to see the moon. It was busier than it is during the day sometimes.

It came at the end of a busy day of Teams meetings, and then yoga, and then we went to get fish and chips from a van parked up at the St Duthac Centre (The Angry Seagull - good name and good fish and chips), before heading over to Shandwick. I hope I have the energy to do this again tomorrow evening, when it is expected to be less cloudy (and I plan to take the EOS M in order to take some pictures of the moon over the sea from the shoreline).

Edit: for Mr A's best effort (standing on the sidelines as supporter), please see his blip.
