The village

The village I live in, Ranish, basically consists of two roads. The road we're on is School Hill; funnily enough a hill with an old school house at the bottom of it - we're at the top of the hill. The other road, seen in this blip, is the main village road and is simply named Ranish (so where as we are '3 School Hill, Ranish', there is a '3 Ranish' on that road).

This is the view, looking east, we have from our house with the 'main' road houses lining the way up the hill.

Just a bit further right than this photo shows, there is a dip in the land where we can see the sea and various boats, including the ferry, passing by. On a clear day we can see the mountains on the mainland behind the hill - well over 5o miles away, but today it looks like there's a bank of cloud hanging over the west coast of the mainland.
