Pferdeschorschi

Busy, busy

Not a fan of multi pictures but as I use Blip amongst others as a record of what has gone on, I had little choice. Sorry for that to the technical photography Blipers!

First the cake. Sponge made previous day so now the cream  filling. Something went wrong and in panic added gelantine to harden up it up. Over did it a bit so more of a wobbly pudding like filling. Tasted OK but I prefered my last one but for a hot sunny day it was quite refreshing.

Then get ready for XYZ&ABC's visit with their adorable 4 month old rescue dog whose parentage is not known. After the initial shyness, the three got on well and there were no problems. The pup was a treat to have, even at such a young age she behaved impeccably. Sadly their last dog "Sammy" died a few weeks ago after a miserable illness. Coffee and cake, then a bit of useful riding help from XYZ for Angie & Sultan, off for a dog walk, evening snack during which bee godfather Peter arrived on his Eicher tractor & a trailer with two hay bales (2012). Peter had heard we were looking for hay & organised this. The Bavarian company Eicher which no longer exists was quite revolutionary in it's time & the tractors have a large number of collectors/clubs. Peter has two although he isn't a farmer but has some woodland & can just about justify having at least one to his wife. Peter joined us for a coffee & cake and shortly after he left, the next tractor entered the property.

This time it was Franz, who has featured on Blip a few times. He had made us 12 round haylage bales and was now delivering them accompanied by Markus, a 12 year old lad from the village who loves the farm life & is to be seen as a passenger ion the tractors. Markus can identify the tractors in the village from the engine noise & when on the road if they have a trailer attached. He seems to know every square inch of all the fields in the area and who planted, ploughed, cut, rolled what, where and when. A very charming young man and Angie was very taken by him and not only because he is a FC Bayern Munich football fan. Franz hooked up the bale transporter he and his own son, also Markus, had made me in the winter and set about collecting the bales from the fields, bringing two at a time, one front, one back. Having finished, we sat down for water, coke and cake until almost 11:00pm when they took off at speed hoping young Markus' parents wouldn't notice him missing.

We were able to sit outside until the end - what a beautiful warm day at last and good company who were very polite by saying the cake tasted good. It's nice to have friends who can tell little white lies.

Thank you  Franz & Markus and of course Angie for providing other rather more edible creations.
