Green Tiger

I stopped off at Fairlie Moor on the way home from work. Damaged the knees of a good pair of trousers crawling around a dusty path trying to get a face-to-face encounter with this Green Tiger Beetle - the jaws of these creatures are impressive - but I just could not get it to turn round. On the other hand the spectacular colours go completely gorgeous when the sunlight (of which there was ample today) catches its wing case and the back of the thorax.
